A View Of The Waterfalls At Terni With Figures In The Foreground
A view of the waterfalls at Terni with figures in the foreground by Belgian Painter Martin Verstappen (1773 – 1853); a landscape painter of the 19th Century.
This is a beautiful landscape scene that starts with a light blue sky with clouds, some of which have a warm yellow glow; overseeing cliff tops, outlined with an abundance trees that sit on rocky terrain.
At the center of the large rocky terrain there is a high waterfall that plunges into the valley below and flows through more boulders and cliffs, flowing over another embankment creating another smaller waterfall.
On either side of the smaller waterfall is another cliff that has a a small hut on the top that is covered with grass and in the lower section near the water trees.
In the foreground near another cliff comprised of boulders and covered with trees are two women and one man the are speaking with each other on the bank of the river created by the waterfall.
