At The Fountain
At The Fountain by French Painter Guillaume Seignac (1870 – 1924); an Academic Artist and student of French Painter William-Adolphe Bouguereau (1825 – 1905) who painted in the Neoclassicism and Realism Styles, with a focus on mythological themes.
A beautiful young maiden wit a white band wrapped around her hair just above her forehead, is wearing a white off shoulder robe that is tied around her waist with cord as she sits on the ledge of a rectangular water fountain.
She has her right arm extended opposite of where she is sitting, with her right palm placed on the edge of the trough of the fountain.
In her left hand she is holding the top of a large decorative water vase that has two layers of drawings depicting an antelope fending off a lion, with its base in her lap.
By the fountain are some green plants. and around her is a large amount of grass, that is offset by a large tree behind her along with a large green shrub and a smaller tree with brown and yellow leaves.
