Cleopatra c1725 by French Painter François Lemoyne (1688 – 1737); a Rococo Period Painter that specialized in large Allegorical ceiling paintings, and tutor French Painters to Charles-Joseph Natoire and François Boucher.

This is a depicts a young woman portraying Cleopatra in a seated position against a backdrop of a large golden and red drape on her right and a large column standing on a large square base on her left.

She is wearing a string pearls that have been woven into her hair and a gold hairpiece embedded with rubies on the front of her hair; along with a teardrop pearl earrings, a large pearl bracelet on her left forearm and a golden sash with pearls and emerald gemstone over a white blouse that is off of her left shoulder revealing part of her breast.

In her right hand which is folded upwards she is holding a large teardrop pearl that has a red ribbon connected to it over a gold or brass chalice that she is grasping with her left hand that is resting on her lap over a teal green garment; as she looks off into the distance with her head turned to the left.
