Eugene de Blaas
Eugene de Blaas was an Italian-Austrian painter born in Albano, Italy, in 1843. He was the son of a painter Karl von Blaas and a wealthy Roman mother named Agnesina Auda.
He grew up in Venice where his father was a professor at the Academy of Venice. De Blaas was known for his paintings of Venetian society, including portraits, religious paintings, and colorful, theatrical scenes.
His attention to detail in depicting the attire and hairstyles of his subjects was particularly notable.
