Landscape in Germany
Landscape in Germany c1860 by Finnish Landscape Painter Victoria Åberg (1824 – 1892); a noted painter of the Düsseldorf tradition who was one of the first Finnish women to achieve professional success as a painter.
A genre landscape scene of a mother with her child (which may be her daughter), walking on a road through the forest carrying on her back a bundle of firewood that she has collected.
To their right is a high ridge filled with trees, with some of them beginning to fall off the ledge; with more trees and bushes to their right that also includes a smaller path.
In the background from which they were coming from we can see a lake, and on the opposite bank more forest area, as well as blue sky with some clouds.
