Portrait of a Girl with a Red Hairband and a Yellow Headscarf

Portrait of a Girl with a Red Hairband and a Yellow Headscarf c1857 by Austrian Painter Friedrich von Amerling (1803 – 1887); court painter to Emperor Franz Josef I (1830 – 1916) of Austria.

This is a three quarter portrait of an attractive young girl wearing a large medium weight deep yellow kerchief with a red double line criss-cross pattern around her head; that is tied into a knot at the front with the ends hanging loose resting on her chest.

Additionally on her head beneath the kerchief she has a red ribbon tied to her dark brown hair that terminates into a bow on the right side of her head with two white flowers on the right side of her head; with one closed and the other open.

She is also wearing a white blouse and a red velour sweater over the blouse and no jewelry; as she looks toward her left with a smile on her face.

This is a remastered digital art old masters reproduction of a public domain image that is available as a canvas print online.
