The Music
The Music c1898 by Czech Painter Alphonse Mucha (1860 – 1939); as well as an accomplished Illustrator and Graphic Artist who was a major force of the Art Nouveau Period; known for his stylized, ornate and decorative theatrical posters.
This is one of four painting Mucha created to represent the four artistic genres, breaking them down into times of the day. With Morning representing Dance, Noon representing Painting, Afternoon representing Poetry and Night representing Music; which is this work of Art Nouveau Artwork.
This piece consist of a partially nude young women sitting on a decorative ring wearing a flowing gown and a bandana that wraps around her very long flowing hair; and in the background we can see about 10 birds that are sitting on branches and what may be the moon in very light blue.
