Enoch nasceu do químico de perfumes Enoch Bolles, Jr e Catherine Keep no Condado de Marion, Flórida em março 3, 1883.
Ele estudou na Academia Nacional de Design de Nova York (é. 1825), e publicou sua primeira ilustração nas capas de revistas de humor; Juiz e Puck em 1914; tornando-se mais conhecido por ilustrar a revista pulp Film Fun.
Então em 1923 ele se tornou o artista de capa exclusivo da Film Magazine e continuaria nessa posição até 1943, quando a revista foi vítima da campanha do então Postmaster General contra material obsceno.
