A Pensive Moment by French Painter Gustave Jean Jacquet (1846 – 1909); a French Academic Painter and a pupil of William-Adolphe Bouguereau
This is a beautiful portrait of a young lady sitting in a red cushioned chair with a white wood frame in deep thought.
She is resting her head on her left hand with her folded left arm resting on a beautifully decorated satin pillow with floral designs that itself is resting on a table that matches the chair in design with a pocket watch resting on it; and that has on its lower shelf two red and white roses.
She has rolled scarf wrapped around her brown hair as well as another gold cloth fitted to the front and flowers adorning her hair on the front and right side.
She is wearing a gold and red corset, a red, hvítur, yellow striped jacket with floral designs on the white areas, a black choker around her neck, a white floral scarf tied at the front of her chest, a cloth bracelet with a silver piece on the top and green full length skirt.
To her left is a large red drape, and behind is a darkened entry way that has gold cover paneling along the wall with a matching brown and gold drape; and to the right of that a white floral vase sitting on a ornamental shelf.

Gustave fæddist í París, Frakkland á 1846 og var nemandi franska málarans William-Adolphe Bouguereau (1825 – 1905) af nýklassíkinni, Raunsæi, Akademískt, Táknmál, Nútímalistartímabil; og var aldrei leiðbeinandi með öðrum listamanni og var undir miklum áhrifum frá honum á fyrri hluta ferils síns.
Fyrsta listaverk Gustave var La Reverie, myndlíking sem kynnt var á stofunni í 1865; þá inn 1866 kynntar litlar víddarmyndir sem lýstu lífi 16, 17th og 18. aldar líf, auk þess að mála portrettmyndir af myndefni í tímabilsbúningum 16. aldar.
Í 1875 Gustave hlaut afburðaverðlaun og 4 Mörgum árum síðar var gert að Knight of the Legion of Honor (Heiðurssveitin, áður Royal Order of the Legion of Honor); er æðsta verðlaunastig Frakklands, bæði hernaðarlega og borgaralega. Stofnað í 1802 eftir Napoleon Bonaparte.
