Ett vinterlandskap med en skogsman och resenärer av den flamländska målaren Gijsbrecht Leytens (1586 – 1643 till 1656); som specialiserat sig på landskap och särskilt vinterlandskap.
Det här är en underbar winter dream landscape with deep snow and wonderful looking trees, set in an ideal isolated forest area that has one home on the side of a tree lined lined road, that possibly leads to a main village somewhere down the road; as it seems this is where the travelers are going towards.
On the road we can see a man that is walking in front of his horse; while another man is herding what appears to be a group of sheep, slightly behind the man and his horse. We also see a woodsman cutting wood in the forest by two large trees; as a mother and child are leaving the forest carrying bundles of chopped branches down the road as well.
While up on high in the beautiful blue sky filled with white clouds and a settling sun, we see a lone bird flying away.
