Diana and Her Nymphs In A Wooded Landscape

Diana and her Nymphs in a wooded landscape by Frans Francken, the Younger (1581 – 1642) и Александар Кеиринкс (1600 – 1652)

This is a wonderful пејзаж presentation of a slow meandering river that has two white swans in it, that cuts through a lush terrain of tall trees and bountiful grasslands.

On the left bank of the river at the front of the scene we see Diana (Roman Goddess of wild & domestic animals and the hunt,) semi nude relaxing with 5 of her nymphs and her dogs; with another nymph hiding behind a tree, watching them.

In the distance we see various hunting party’s going after game with spears and bows and others, while still others on the right bank are chasing deer with dogs on horseback and on foot into the deep forest.

Diana and Her Nymphs is a remastered digital art old masters reproduction of a public domain image that is available as a печатење на платно онлајн.

Frans Francken The Younger

Frans was born into a family of artist and would become the most well known of the members of his family. He was born to Frans Francken the Elder (a student of Historical Flemish Painter Frans Floris (1519 – 1570)) and Elisabeth Mertens; and his father was one of the most important creators of altar pieces in Flanders.

Frans and his brother Hieronymus Francken II (1578 – 1623), both trained under their father Frans the Elder; and may have received additional training in their uncles workshop Hieronymus Francken I (1540 – 1610), which was located in Paris, Франција.

After completing his training Frans worked in the family workshop, and from there became an independent master in the Antwerp Guild of Saint Luke in 1605; becoming a deacon of the Guild in 1616.

Frans was a diverse painter that created artwork in many different genres; with many of his works being based on historical and biblical figures; and over the years he became a very successful painter and operated a workshop, that produced copies of original compositions.

Alexander Keirincx

Alexander was the son of Matthijs Keirincx and Anna Mason and specialized as a landscape painter, that was known for his woodland scenes with figures, English castles and country houses; and became a master in the Antwerp Guild of St. Luke somewhere between 1618 или 1619.
