These images lured them into a seemingly idyllic mental vacation, offering temporary respite from the ravages of a war-torn world teetering on the precipice of collapse.
Alas, many succumbed to the temptation, unwittingly dooming themselves to an eternity within the clutches of Dream Sleep.
The tragedy of this grim reality lies in the manipulation and shortsightedness of those in power, as well as the scientist and engineers who chose to do their bidding; failing to foresee the profound consequences of their actions, as they were also trapped, not in a machine, but within the confines of their own arrogance.
Having learned nothing from the wars that nearly wiped out a population and devastated a planet, they continued the path of self destruction; until they were no more and a new civilization rose from the ashes of the old, setting a path for a better world.
