Thus, the Dream Sleep Environment was born; an ingenious concept that promised rest for the weary, and a way to slowly rebuild the world that had been lost to war; but what was not anticipated was the Mind Trap.
The Mind Trap as it was called, is a state that occurs once a person enters Dream Sleep; in which the mind complete dissociates itself from their known reality, making it impossible to remove an individual from the machine, as the body dies instantly.
What could not be anticipated with the current level of their technology, was that the mind would instantly dissociates itself from the body, forever being ensnared within the confines of the machine; a fate that tens of millions found themselves in.

Having learned nothing from the wars that nearly wiped out a population and devastated a planet, they continued the path of self destruction; until they were no more and a new civilization rose from the ashes of the old, setting a path for a better world.
