Enoch è nato per profumare il chimico Enoch Bolles, Jr e Catherine Keep nella contea di Marion, Florida a marzo 3, 1883.
Ha studiato alla National Academy of Design di New York (è. 1825), e pubblicò la sua prima illustrazione sulle copertine di riviste umoristiche; Giudice e Puck in 1914; diventando famoso per aver illustrato la rivista pulp Film Fun.
poi in 1923 è diventato l'artista di copertina esclusivo per Film Magazine e avrebbe continuato in quella posizione fino a quando 1943, when the magazine became a victim of the then Postmaster General’s campaign against salacious material.
