Norman Prescott-Davies nasceu na vila de Isleworth London, no Reino Unido, em 1862.
Ele foi educado no London International College e em South Kensington e com a idade de 29 foi eleito Associado do Royal College of Art e, posteriormente, da Royal Society of British Artists em 1893.
Norman Prescott-Davies era conhecido por seus retratos romantizados de moças greco-romanas, além de miniaturista e pintor de figuras; e junto com Alma-Tadema, Godward, Coleman, Bulleid e outros; estava entre os artistas do período às vezes referido como “toga e terraço” ou o “escola de mármore.”
