Konstantin Makovski
Konstantin Makovsky was a Russian painter best known for his depictions of Russian society during the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
He was a member of the Peredvizhniki, which were a group of Russian realist artists who rejected the traditional academic style and instead focused on depicting contemporary life and social issues.
His paintings often featured bright colors and intricate details, and he was particularly skilled at capturing the luxurious costumes and ornate settings of the Russian aristocracy.
Some of his most famous works include “The Russian Bride’s Attire” c1889, “A Boyar Wedding Feast” c1883, epi “In the Artist’s Studio” c1882.
Makovsky was also a skilled portraitist, and he painted many prominent figures of his time, including Tsar Alexander III and members of the royal family.
