This is a wonderful genre painting of the upper class having afternoon tea at the painter’s salon, discussing art and many other things.
There are two women sitting on a satin blue and yellow stripped couch having a conversation; while another women seated nearby in front of a large wall mirror is holding eye glasses up to her eyes, intently listening to the conversation the hostess is having with a gentlemen holding his top hat in his left hand.
There are also three other individuals, comprising one woman and to men talking by a window, while a man sitting in a chair near them listen to a conversation that two other women and a man are having while they drink tea while sitting at a table.
We can also see in the foreground a small black dog that is sitting on a plush fur rug, just off by an arm chair with floral pattern cushion that is near a very large flower vase containing a large assortment of flowers.
