Falero è nato a Granada e inizialmente ha intrapreso una carriera nella Marina spagnola, ma ha rinunciato alla delusione dei suoi genitori; come ha deciso di viaggiare a Parigi, dove ha studiato arte, chimica e ingegneria meccanica.
Durante i suoi studi in chimica e ingegneria meccanica; considerava gli esperimenti che doveva condurre troppo pericolosi, portandolo così a focalizzare la sua attenzione solo sulla pittura.
Di conseguenza divenne allievo del ritrattista e orientalista francese Gabriel-Joseph-Marie-Augustin Ferrier (1847 – 1914). Dopo Parigi, si è trasferito a Londra, dove ha continuato i suoi studi, e alla fine si stabilì.
Falero aveva un particolare interesse per l'astronomia e incorporava le costellazioni celesti in molte delle sue opere, ad esempio “Il matrimonio di una cometa” e “Stelle gemelle”. Il suo interesse e la sua conoscenza dell'astronomia lo portarono anche ad illustrare le opere di Camille Flammarion.
