Portrait of Young Beauty with Pearls by French Painter Theodore Fantin-Latour (1805 – 1872); a pastel portrait painter.
This beautiful portrait features a young platinum blonde beauty that is posing against a blue to grey to reddish plain background, wearing a period costume.
In her hair are five closed pink flowers with bright green along the left side of her hair; arranged in a semi-circular fashion from front to back.
Around her neck is a black velvet choker that is held in place with a jeweled like small buckle and the sharp contrast of the choker and her hair color make her face the center of attention.
She has left hand over her left breast holding part of the choker and on her left wrist we can see a double layer bracelet that is composed of large pearls.
Her dress is made of satin or silk, with the sleeves and center chest and waist area being white and the surrounding area from her chest on downward being a pink color that is tied off with two large pink bows mid chest and at the waist.
The dress has embroidered lace trimmings around its perimeter with pink silk ribbon and bows on the upper sleeves of the dress; and we can also see that she is sitting in gold colored chair as her left elbow is situated on the armrest.
This portrait is assumed to be that of Princess Louise Élisabeth of France (1727 – 1759) the eldest daughter of King Louis XV of France and Maria Leszczyńska and the elder twin of Anne Henriette de France; but compared to all the other paintings made of these sisters, I do not see how this possible.

Theodore was a pastel painter of portraits and studied in the workshop of the French Portrait Painter Benjamin Rolland (1777 – 1855), who was a student of the celebrated Neoclassic French Painter Jacques-Louis David (1748 – 1825) and considered to be the preeminent painter of his era.
Under the influence of Rolland, Theodore mastered the skills of painting, drawing and forms rendering; and would exhibit his artwork regularly at the Salon from 1842 to 1866.
His son Henri Fantin-Latour born in 1836 was also a well known and respected painter of still life images and portraits; and his father gave him his first art lessons at the age of ten, after recognizing his talent for art.
