Hwn yw portrait engraving of Dutch writer, philosopher, translator, gwleidydd, theologian and artist, of Dirck Volckertszoon Coornhert, who is also known as Theodore Cornhert.
It shows him from his head down to the upper chest area, wearing a jacket over a shirt, a hat with a braided cord tied around its base; with a full a full white beard and mustache covering his face.
At the upper left is the text Obijt A. 1590, the date of his death and in the upper right the text Ætat: Suæ 68.; while below the portrait is THEODORVS COORNHERTIVS AMSTELREDAMVS.
Below this inscription is more in Latin with the following verse: Quid valeant Bataui lingua, ingenioqb Batauo,; Rara inter Batauos lux, Theodore, doces.; Quis posthac crassam Batauos affinxerit aurem?; Dispeream, si quis tale quid ausus erit.; Francyc Hoeius ex cudit.
