In 1925 Zoë begon haar studie aan de Pennsylvania Museum School of Industrial Art, waar ze studeerde bij Thornton Oakley, een voormalig student van Howard Pyle; om haar kunstopleiding te betalen, zou ze model staan om geld in te zamelen voor haar collegegeld.
Tijdens haar kunstcarrière, Mozert painted hundreds of magazine covers and movie posters; vaak zichzelf gebruikend als model voor haar illustraties, camera's of spiegels gebruiken om de pose vast te leggen.
In 1941, uitgeverij Brown & Bigelow purchased Mozert’s first nude artwork and signed her to an exclusive calendar contract; en tijdens de Tweede Wereldoorlog, haar pin-up serie voor het bedrijf, genaamd Victory Girls, werd zowel in kalender- als mutoscope-kaartvorm gepubliceerd.
