Snow Landscape
Sneeuwlandschap c1845 door de Nederlandse schilder Alexander Joseph Daiwaille (1818 – 1888); portrait and landscape painter.
This is a beautiful tranquil winterlandschap painting of a small Dutch village situated near a frozen river with villagers on the ice, others walking along the country path and others going about their business around the village.
The scene is set with a beautiful blue sky populated with billowing white, blauw, grey and reddish hued clouds; with birds flying overhead and with trees surrounding and to both sides of the village.
