St. Peter’s Basilica Rome

L'internu di St. Peter’s Basilica Rome by Italian Painter Giovanni Paolo Panini (1691 – 1765); known as an architect and painter of his vistas of Rome, detailing the antiquities of that great city.

St. Peter’s Basilica Rome is another version of the interior of St. Peter’s Basilica painted by Panini. It covers a broader view and has greater detail of the interior of the architecture and all of its statues and sculptures.

St. Peter’s Basilica Rome, just as in his other versions we can see clergy and scholars admiring the great works of art within the structure, we see worshipers kneeling and praying, we see mothers with their children, aristocrats and a host of visitors to the Basilica, walking through the Basilica as they look above them talking of the marvel of its construction.

Everything in this version is highly detailed from the intricate carvings throughout the structure, as well as the statues of religious figures, that we can see on multiple levels; all the way up to the patterns and structure of the ceiling with its hanging gonfalons (a heraldic flag or banner), that depict various religious scenes, as well as the details of the large arch windows.

St. Peter’s Basilica Rome is a retouched digital art old masters reproduction of a public domain image that is available for purchase as a stampa su tela in linea.
