Alegoría en honor a Enrique IV del grabador francés François Marie Isidore Queverdo (1748 – 1797); y terminado por el artista francés Jean Dambu (1741 – 1808)

Esta es una hermosa grabado done by François Queverdo to honor Henri IV (1553 – 1610) who was also known as the epithet Good King Henry or Henry the Great.

He was King of Navarre (as Henry III) desde 1572 and King of France from 1589 a 1610; and was the first monarch of France from the House of Bourbon, a cadet branch of the Capetian dynasty.

He was assassinated in 1610 by François Ravaillac (1578 – 1610), a Catholic zealot, and was succeeded by his son Louis XIII (1601 – 1643).

The engraving has the following inscriptions.

On the top left that reads: Defcends du hant des cieux augufte Verite (Descend from heaven august Verite)

On the top right that reads: Repand fur mes ecrits ta force & ta clarte (Spread over my writings your strength and your clarity)
