Hubert Robert
Hubert Robert was a French painter who was known for his paintings of ruins, paisajes, and architectural scenes; and is considered to be one of the most prominent artists of the Rococo period.
He began his career as an engraver and architectural draftsman before turning his attention to painting; creating pieces that were characterized by their dramatic use of light and shadow, and their attention to detail.
He often depicted architectural elements in a state of decay, reflecting the themes of impermanence and transience that were popular during the Rococo period.
