Christmas Pinup by American Painter Bill Medcalf (1920 – 2005); illustratrice de pin-up ainsi que portraitiste et paysagiste dont la carrière s'étend de la fin des années 40 à la fin des années 60.
C'est une belle Christmas Girl Pinup Illustration featuring a beautiful young blonde as Santa’s Helper that is sitting on the floor.
She dressed in a skimpy red and white outfit, that’s just an open red vest with white velour trimming, red shorts with white velour trimming, white high heel boots with red threaded trimming and tassels at the top, a red cap with a white fluffy puff on the top and finally a bell bracelet on her left wrist.
She is holding a large white greeting card with her left outstretched arm that is above and in front of wrapped gift boxes and a decorated Christmas tree branches.
In the background is a very large window that has star lit sky view, with the North Star shining bright over a lighted terrain and a lighted white billboard.
To fill in the empty white spaces in the image I added the illustration artwork, Pinup Girl by Alberto Vargas to the large greeting card, with my Fractal piece She Within The Machine for the background; and lastly I added the Classical art piece Winter Landscape with Skaters on a Frozen River by Frederik Marinus Kruseman to the billboard.

Bien que Bill n'ait pas eu beaucoup de formation formelle, il avait un œil vif et un grand sens du style et de la forme qui finirait par faire de lui l'un des meilleurs artistes mannequins pin-up de sa génération.
Né à Minneapolis Minnesota en 1920, Bill a reçu sa formation artistique des établissements d'enseignement de la région près de l'endroit où il a vécu.
À l'âge de 20 il a pu décrocher un emploi au Bureau de gravure du Trésor des États-Unis, où il est resté jusqu'à 1942, quand il a décidé d'entrer aux États-Unis. Marine; devenir un compagnon d'artilleur.
Après son service militaire, Bill a rejoint le personnel de Brown & Bigelow dans 1946 et en 1947 a produit une illustration élégante d'une belle jeune femme promenant son chien dans un domaine pour Kelly-Springfield Celebrity Tires.
Il créerait également des illustrations publicitaires similaires pour d'autres clients qui se sont également avérées être un succès auprès du public..
Dans 1949 Bill a créé sa première Pin up pour Brown & Bigelow et dans 1951 a été nommé comme l'un des cinq meilleurs artistes pin-up du cabinet.
Medcalf est resté avec Brown & Bigelow jusqu'à 1967 gagner pin up art illustratif a commencé à décliner, en raison de l'évolution de la culture et de la distribution de magazines masculins pour adultes.
