Natale Schiavoni was born in Chioggia, a coastal town of the Metropolitan City of Venice in Northern Italy; and is believed to be a distant descendant of Italian Renaissance painter and etcher Andrea Schiavoni (Andrea Meldolla) 1510/15 – 1563.
While studying in Venice Natale trained with Venetian Painter Francesco Maggiotto ( 1738 – 1805) and later became a Neoclassic painter.
v 1816, Schiavoni was invited by the Austrian Emperor to Vienna, to become the official portraitist for the court.
Pak v 1821 he returned to Venice, where he became a professor at the Academy of Fine Arts.
