Guët began his artistic studies at the École des beaux-arts de Paris from 1818 – 1821 under the mentorship of French Classicism Painter Antoine-Jean Gros (1771 – 1835), French lithographer, portrait and historical painter Louis Hersent, and French lithographer, historical and military painter Horace Vernet; e da 1819 exhibited at the Salon de Paris.
Per 21 years beginning in 1824 Guët went on study trips across Europe which included France , Holland , Svizzera , Italia , Turkey and Greece. Nel 1837, 1839, e 1843 Guët took part in the exhibitions in Leipzig, Germania; as well as in the Kunstverein Lübeck in 1850, 1852 e 1854.
