Christmas Pinup

Questo è un bellissimo Christmas Girl Pinup Illustration featuring a beautiful young blonde as Santa’s Helper that is sitting on the floor.
She dressed in a skimpy red and white outfit, that’s just an open red vest with white velour trimming, red shorts with white velour trimming, white high heel boots with red threaded trimming and tassels at the top, a red cap with a white fluffy puff on the top and finally a bell bracelet on her left wrist.
She is holding a large white greeting card with her left outstretched arm that is above and in front of wrapped gift boxes and a decorated Christmas tree branches.
In the background is a very large window that has star lit sky view, with the North Star shining bright over a lighted terrain and a lighted white billboard.
To fill in the empty white spaces in the image I added the illustration artwork, Pinup Girl by Alberto Vargas to the large greeting card, with my Fractal piece She Within The Machine for the background; and lastly I added the Classical art piece Winter Landscape with Skaters on a Frozen River by Frederik Marinus Kruseman to the billboard.

Sebbene Bill non avesse molta formazione formale, aveva un occhio attento e una grande passione per lo stile e la forma che alla fine lo avrebbero reso uno dei migliori artisti pinup della sua generazione.
Nato a Minneapolis Minnesota nel 1920, Bill ha ricevuto la sua formazione artistica dalle istituzioni educative della zona vicino a dove viveva.
All'età di 20 è stato in grado di ottenere un lavoro con l'Ufficio del Tesoro degli Stati Uniti per l'incisione, dove rimase fino a 1942, quando decise di entrare negli Stati Uniti. Marina Militare; diventare un compagno di artiglieri.
Dopo il servizio militare Bill si è unito allo staff di Brown & Bigelow in 1946 e in 1947 ha prodotto un'elegante illustrazione di una bellissima giovane donna che porta a spasso il suo cane in una tenuta per Kelly-Springfield Celebrity Tires.
Avrebbe anche creato illustrazioni pubblicitarie simili per altri clienti che si sono rivelate anche un successo di pubblico.
Nel 1949 Bill ha creato la sua prima Pin up per Brown & Bigelow e in 1951 è stato nominato come uno dei primi cinque artisti pin-up dell'azienda.
Medcalf è rimasto con Brown & Bigelow fino a 1967 win l'arte illustrativa pin up ha iniziato a declinare, a causa del cambiamento culturale e della distribuzione di riviste maschili per adulti.
