This is an a portrait of a young lady sitting in an opera box holding a fan in her right hand that is adorned with a gemstone ring and gold bracelet with a center placed pearl, which is folded over her left arm, that is adorned with a gold bracelet and gold ring on her fourth finger.

On the red velvet covered rail of the opera box to her left is a bouquet of flowers comprising red, geal, pink and yellow roses, with a mix of other flowers.

Guët began his artistic studies at the École des beaux-arts de Paris from 1818 – 1821 under the mentorship of French Classicism Painter Antoine-Jean Gros (1771 – 1835), French lithographer, portrait and historical painter Louis Hersent, and French lithographer, historical and military painter Horace Vernet; agus bho 1819 exhibited at the Salon de Paris.
