En 1925 Zoë va començar els seus estudis a la Pennsylvania Museum School of Industrial Art, on va estudiar amb Thornton Oakley, un antic alumne de Howard Pyle; per pagar la seva educació artística, modelaria per recaptar diners per a la seva matrícula.

Durant la seva carrera artística, Mozert va pintar centenars de portades de revistes i cartells de pel·lícules; s'utilitza sovint com a model de les seves il·lustracions, utilitzant càmeres o miralls per capturar la postura.
