Venus c1875 by French Academic Painter Alexandre Cabanel (1823 – 1889); painted in the Academic Style and was known for his Classical, Historic and Religious subject matter.

A nude golden haired Venus; the Roman Goddess of Love, Beauty, Sex, Fertility, Prosperity and Victory; poised on the steps to the Pantheon in the clouds.

In her left hand is a golden ball, along with a reddish-pink robe that is draped over her left arm and flowing behind her.

To her right is a golden chariot and a flock of white doves, flocking toward her right hand.
