Visitez Le Palais Royal

Visitez Le Palais Royal c(1890 – 1900) by Romanian Painter Jean de Paleologue (1855 – 1942); as well as a poster artist and illustrator.

This is a vintage art French advertising poster of what appears to be in today’s equivalent a new business mall that provides high end services, restaurants and theater to the general public.

The main title says Visitez Le Palais Royal or Visit The Palais Royal; sits above the head of an attractive young lady that is adorned with an elaborate headpiece comprised of pearls inlaid into a looping gold sub-structure.

She is also wearing large gold and silver starburst earrings with gold strings hanging from them as though they are rays of light; along with a five tier pearl choker necklace that has a silver brooch hanging from it with a blue gemstone in the center.

She also has two tier arm bracelets wrapped around the upper portions of her upper arm; and is holding in her left hand that has diamond rings on her middle, index and thumb, a large gold clam shell jewelry box that has a very large pearl string necklace, part of which she has wrapped around her right hand that has a silver ring on her middle finger and a diamond ring on her fourth finger.

Her long no shoulder blue stress is also adorned with pearls and large gemstones through out the entire length of it.

Behind her is the Palais Royal building complex with a central water fountain and trees on both sides, that create a path way.

While on the lower left of the poster besides the young lady is a heading that says Maisons Notables & Recommandees or Notable Houses and Recommendations, with a list of business names and there business numbers; and on the opposite end on the right the artist logo signature PAL underlined.

The list starts with Joailliers or Jewelers at the center top, below that Bijoutiers another type of jewelers, Opticiens or Opticians, below that Orfevres Graveurs or Goldsmiths Engravers, Horlogers or Watchmakers, Fab de Croix d’Orders or Fabricators of Custom Crosses…; also a list of restaurants and a theater.

This is a remastered digital art old masters reproduction of a public domain image that is available for purchase online as a rolled canvas print.
